Chapter 12

A Tumble before the fall

Izuku trudged down the cold hallway, the fixtures barely doing their job to illuminate his way. It was still early in the morning; the faintest glow emitting over the mountains of black to red, red to gold and gold to blue. Those colors were nowhere in this corridor however. No honey glow to scare away the shadows that encapsulated the crumbling walls and floor. The plywood impression of windows doing well to prevent any prying eyes from outside, or within.

Izuku’s bare feet tapped lightly against the rough floor, his toes now cold. He wished that he had a pair of slippers- hell even socks would be nice to walk around in. Many would think it wouldn’t be hard to get something so simple, but Izuku’s Master didn’t take kindly to requests, especially ones that expressed a want. The only time that Izuku was ever able to get anything without much issue was when Hari had been allowed around him. Though, that was years ago.

There had been a time when Chisaki wasn’t a total monster, he had moments of kindness and showed fondness toward the omega. They used to have long conversations, laugh and joke with one another and eat every meal together. They never touched in any kind of way- which Izuku had found odd, but didn’t question since it was a relief to not have an alpha expect that from him. At one point Izuku had thought his life was looking on the bright side. He had a new home, an alpha that was kind, warm meals and his own bed that he hoped to someday make into a cozy nest.

Even with all the weird and abrasive moments that Izuku would randomly experience with Chisaki, everything was immensely better than his life in the sex trade. He didn’t mind the over possessiveness that the brunette seemed to have over him. The quick changes in mood and sudden impatience wasn’t surprising to the omega since his Master was an alpha. The benefits that Izuku was given were already in itself shocking, he thought his life was all but over. The retaliation and ‘horrendous’ attacks he committed toward clients in the trade should have been enough for him to be left lifeless in a gutter.  But there he was, with the freedoms that he hadn’t known since before he presented. His new life meant so much to him, the gratitude he felt toward Chisaki was exponential.

Unsurprisingly, it was only a few months before Izuku found something close to affection toward his Master. It wasn’t quiet love or even desire, but more like a resounding acceptance of the man. He was becoming a permanent resident in his life, someone the omega could see becoming close to. The alpha brought a glimmer of happiness and trust that he hadn’t known toward an alpha before. It was new and intimidating but nevertheless comfortable. He was grateful toward the brunettes, never once expecting anything more since what he had was already so much.

Though, all that all came crumbling down with one misstep. Those days before Izuku’s mistake, Chisaki’s actions were no doubt genuine in Izuku’s opinion. The man could be kind and attentive, that was what the omega founded his trust on. Not what he witnessed outside of their small bubble. Izuku ignored the explosive anger, the harsh treatments and even the murders. It was easier to live in this little world with the growing friendship than to pay attention to what went on around him.

Yet, it was what followed that small lapse in judgment on the omega’s behalf that had  everything turn on its head. Chisaki was not above using the information he gained against that same person, even Izuku. Every detail that the omega shared- whether memories of happiness, moments of sadness, a confession or an honest viewpoint- it was all now used as bullets; targeted straight at his heart.

Thankfully that was all before Eri came to join him. Those long ago memories of a new and happy life weren't enough to persuade Izuku to go against tried-and-true experiences. So no, Izuku wouldn’t show any hint that he wanted something from his Master. It was easier to go without than to draw the attention from an incalculable alpha.

Speaking of which, Izuku hadn’t seen Eri since the incident with their Master. He had been looking for her but had come up empty. There had been no sight of her nor any answer from Hari beside a low gruff sound in reply. Izuku was growing more concerned with her absence every day that went by.

Eri had never stayed away from him this long. Even when Chisaki threatened her, she would sneak into his room at night or make sure that they would eat at the same time. She was sneaky in that way, creative when it came to finding loopholes or ways to get around things.

Times like these made the omega curse his collapsed sinus. No one would’ve been able to sniff out that pup as quickly as Izuku. He had Eri’s scent- though limited and dulled- imprinted into his mind. It was basically ingrained within his DNA at this point. He would have been able to track her down quickly.

The only thing that kept Izuku calm at this point was the knowledge that if something were to have happened to Eri (like Chisaki breaking their agreement) then he would have been taunted by the small-brained alphas that roamed this glorified shack. They wouldn’t have missed any chance to put him into distress - hoping to drive him into a drop- then ‘help’ with the outcome because of their uncontrollable instincts. Those selfish pricks thought they were so clever. Izuku wasn’t one to be out right mean, but in this case…

Nothing of the sort had happened yet, so Izuku shoved that panic-induced image away. He had to stay level headed. He would allow a small part of himself to panic but that was reserved for his room, in his nest, with the only sense of safety that he had.

Izuku was brought roughly back to reality as he rounded the corner, his shoulder almost hitting the wall in his distracted state. The shift to avoid the collision sent a deep throb through his elbow. The limb hadn’t stopped aching since being popped back into place. The dull burning sensations were still ever present even with the makeshift sling.

Izuku had done everything he knew at this point to ease the pain (keeping it elevated and icing it occasionally since there was still swelling that lingered in his fingers. Rest to reserve his strength and allow himself to heal). It seemed like the appendage was improving, but at a begrudgingly slow pace.

This misstep around the corner would have been bearable, if it wasn’t for his reflex to cup his elbow in an attempt to protect it. The harsh cupping motion sent sharp lightning throughout his arm, the nerves now enraged at being bothered further. Black and white spotted large blossoms throughout the omega’s vision; nausea becoming more apparent with each breath Izuku sucked through his teeth.

Izuku huffed out a breath, ripping his hand away with a rage of foul phrases on his lips. He squeezed his good hand shut, until his nails were biting into his hand in hopes that it would dull his awareness of his injured elbow. He wasn’t allowed any kind of pain medication. Any type of medical care outside of Eri’s quirk was never an option.

Well, not unless he signed up for one of Chisaki’s ‘procedures’. Then he might get a little bit of morphine to ease his body's response to the repetitive cuts, sutures and foreign objects placements procured by the hand of the deranged alpha. One experience was enough to know it wasn’t worth the tiny amount of relief.

Izuku walked through a double doorway, entering a room filled with tables and chairs for those that lived and worked under Chisaki. The far end had a buffet style table of subpar breakfast foods- though the sight of the slightly burned bacon looked tantalizing to the omega.

Green eyes scanned the room and immediately fell on a short figure with her white hair pulled back by an old string. Eri!

She was sitting at the other end of the room, at a lonely table by herself. Her shoulders hunched over themselves as she scooped oatmeal from a tiny styrofoam bowl. Izuku habitually went to take a step toward her, but his progress stopped when his eyes trailed down to the small girl’s arm that rested heavily upon the table. Blood drained from his face as he realized what happened during the time Eri was gone. Her left arm was heavily wrapped in white bandages, small spots of blood seeping through the fabric and staining into black. The skin just above the bandages -that werent wrapped but looked like they should be- was a fire red, irritated from the continuous torture it must have sustained.

Izuku hadn’t seen the small girl wrapped with bandages in years and the image before him brought tears to his eyes. This was his fault. He knew without a shadow of a doubt that the stunt he pulled a few days back was what brought this terrible reality upon Eri.

Chisaki wasn’t someone to be messed with, he knew that, he had experienced it. Yet, he still thought… fuck! An angry rumble resonated deep in the omega chest. He hadn’t gotten any indication that his Master was taking such actions. No alpha, or beta around him had brought it up or threw it in his face. Why? They always took any opportunity when it was presented; always sought out ways to push Izuku lower. So why wouldn’t they do the same now?

Unless it happened very recently… Izuku supplied to himself.

Izuku knew how much his Master hated to be crossed as much as any other ego driven, disgusting alpha. Yet, there was something that his Master hated more, and that was getting touched- by anyone. He despised it, hated it and would go out of his way to make someone’s life a living hell as punishment for it. Izuku knew that!

Chisaki had explained after he bought the omega that someone touching him was painful. That any touch was like a scorching knife digging into his skin. The impression of any touch lasted long after the contact. It didn’t matter if it was over clothes or not, it all hurt. Though clothing helped the alpha feel more in control and protected. Until he was touched… then all that control was lost.

This was Izuku’s punishment for touching his Master. Chisaki was smart enough to know that Izuku would direct any punishment toward himself if it meant that Eri was safe. He had originally done that, sustaining his broken arm to protect the pup. This time though, it wasn’t enough.

It seemed like the alpha was done with the self sacrificial game, and striked where it would hurt most. No warning, no threat, and no way for Izuku to change anything. The alpha did it quickly, knowing that this was the way to cause Izuku the most pain. The omega didn’t have a chance to protect the small girl, nor hadn't been aware of what was happening to her.

Izuku blinked the tears out of his eyes, taking a deep breath to settle himself. He adjusted his trajectory and walked over to the food table, placing random things on his plate as he tried to keep himself under control and not draw attention. Chisaki was probably watching him, waiting to see his reaction. No doubt one of his men was relaying information back to him since he wasn’t here. He couldn’t show the distress that was undeniably flooding his entire system, he couldn’t react.

If he would have ran to her right away then Chisaki would know that this was the best way to punish him in the future. He couldn’t do that, he had to keep his pain hidden so that Eri wouldn’t have to endure that sadistic man’s torture again. He had already slipped up once, he couldn’t do that again.

As he walked toward the table the small pup was sitting at, he noticed the number of people in the room that watched him. They must be waiting for his shell to crack, or were just checking him out like the disgusting pigs they always were. Both reasons were enough to make Izuku gag on his spit.

God he hated alphas, especially the ones that he was forced to have close proximity with. They were nothing but knot heads, wanting to wet their cocks no matter what or who it was.

Eri's voice was low, kinda shaky as she looked up and greeted Izuku. The omega sat himself down, releasing soothing pheromones for the small girl in hopes to sooth her. He could tell that she was trying to play off how she was feeling- for his sake. That knowledge hit him so hard in the gut that he wanted to scream.

“Eri, what did Chisaki do?” He asked, his voice low and leaving no room for her to dodge. He couldn’t help himself, he needed to know the extent that deranged man had gone to.

Eri shook her head, her eyes now trained on her bowl as she pushed the food around with the spoon. “Nothing too extreme. I’ve had worse.” She said with a shaky breath. Before Izuku could respond she quickly continued. “I don’t think he had time to do more.” She rushed out.

She adjusted in her seat, her injured arm staying in place (as if moving it would take too much energy). “I listened to what you said. I ran and hid in one of the storage closets for the rest of the night.”

“Eri.” Izuku whimpered out when Eri closed her eyes and a tear rolled down her cheek. He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close to him. He could smell a hint of her scent this close, with his nose pressed into her oily hair. The small amount of spoiled milk that he could smell was hint enough to how stressed she truly was. He could only imagine how much the room was now bathed in the pheromones.

“I didn’t feel safe going back to my room, so that seemed like the best place.” Her voice was small, barely above a whisper. “The one with the extra sheets and toilet paper.” She continued. Izuku nodded, listening carefully as the girl's voice grew even quieter.

“I only left for food, I don’t know how long I was in there. I think it was for most of the next day. I was so tired, I just wanted my bed. So I went to my room.” Her voice shook as she dropped her spoon, her hands shaking as she gently clasped them together. “Katsukame came a little bit later. He took me to Chisaki’s exam room.”

Izuku hushed her as the girl began to whimper out a pained cry. He pulled her into his chest, hoping to sooth the fear that she no doubt had re-experienced.

Izuku knew that Eri couldn’t have fought back. She was still so young and there was no way for her to do anything but listen to an alpha, especially one that wouldn’t care to use their pheromones as a weapon. She still habitually submits in many situations. Her instincts would do what it took to stay alive, and this time it was inevitably to follow instruction.

Izuku didn’t dig further for what Chisaki did, he didn’t need to know. Didn’t want to know.

The omega’s shirt began to soak up Eri’s tears as she tried to keep quiet. Both of them knew that showing this type of distress wasn’t allowed, especially in the exam room. Any expression of affliction in that hell-of-a-room would only make things worse.

But that was true even here, in the communal area, with so many alphas around them. Izuku could see their irritated stares as they smelled the two’s pheromones. No doubt a fight between being alluring and nauseating at the same time as the omega and pup scents mixed and suffocated the space they took up. The omega knew he wasn’t in any condition to fight, but he would if he had to. So many of those eyes were zoned in on him, many with a hungry look as they smelled his soothing scent.

Izuku glared at them, his attention on high alert in case he had to protect the small girl. He pulled the pup up gently to their feet, urging them as quickly as possible toward the door. Their food was left forgotten.

Shin and Katsuki walked up the few steps to the building that hosted the fight ring. They were able to secure a meeting with Deku’s master before the next fight. It wasn’t something that they had originally thought would happen so soon in their mission. They would play it cool and laid back so as to not draw attention to themselves. It was all they could do without Deku’s trust, they couldn’t really dig for information without looking suspicious.

Shinso was even more surprised when Aizawa called them in, especially since the green haired omega knew who his partner was. That in itself would be enough to raise any kind of suspicion around their meeting if Deku relayed that back to his Master. This could all be a trap, and if they didn’t stay on their toes then they would pay the ultimate price for the blonde’s idiocy.

As they entered through the doors that they had already done a number of times before, they were met by a beta. His small stature hidden in a cloak with a mask covering his entire face. He didn’t ask who they were, just motioned for them to follow him.

They were guided to the same room that they were in when they had met Deku the week before. Just like the time before, they sat in the empty room and waited. The trend obviously irritated Katsuki as he kept quiet. Only a small drip sound was heard from behind one of the walls that smelt heavily of mildew.

After about 30 minutes the door creaked open and Shinso was immediately on guard. His first instinct toward the man that entered was confusion. This couldn’t  be Izuku’s master, this man was no doubt a beta and didn’t hold the demeanor of a gang leader. The white haired man walked to the small table that was before the two alpha’s, his walk quick but evidently lazy in stride. He made no move to greet the two, just taking a seat across from them.

“I’m Hari.” He said, his eyes not meeting any gaze that was set on him. “My boss apologies for not being able to come to our meeting.”

Shinso only nodded, keeping his face blank as he watched the beta. He knew that that explanation was a load of shit, but decided to go along with it. This type of behavior was more than normal when there were meetings during his previous missions. It was hard to speak face to face with who was actually in charge.

“That's fine.” Katsuki answered with a nod of his head. “We came to learn more about Deku since very little was supplied when we discussed signing the contract.”

The beta nodded, his head lifting slightly as he understood the reason for the meeting. “If your boss cannot answer any of our questions with him being indisposed,” the blonde alpha continued. “I hope that you will be able to. We wouldn’t want to waste either of our time now would we?”

Hari shook his head quickly, his eyes going slightly wide as he thought over what the blond said. Shinso hid a smirk at the dominance that the other alpha was establishing. Though the other leaned more toward the aggressive side than most, it was appealing to watch him take over the meeting. Katsuki was one who quickly took control of the atmosphere, laying his natural attitude on thick. This time being no different.

It allowed the dark haired alpha to take a breath of relief, habitually leaning back into his chair with his arms crossed over his chest. This meeting wasn’t going to be hard now that they were in control, and technically their fake status in the underground was above a beta lacky. They should be able to get away with a bit more digging than they would have with Hari’s boss.

“Of course, Torikkusutā. As you and Koiniochiru are aware, Deku hasn’t had a sponsor for a few months now. That isn’t new, very few VIPs are willing to sign a contract with him despite his streak ratios. That reason being that he doesn’t listen. Because of that, he has only had few mentors to help train him, but none of them have stayed for another contract term.” The beta explained quickly. After a moment he cleared his throat as he processed what he just said. “Though his master doesn’t see that as an issue.” Hari quickly added on.

He opened the folder he brought in with him. A number of documents were now spread against the metal table, majority indicating to information about the fight ring standards and rules rather than the omega in question.

“If you choose to become sponsors, there are some things that you must agree to.” The beta finally made eye contact with both of them. “First, the omega will stay here no matter the situation. He is still the boss’s possession and thus will be kept here.”

A long silence encompassed the room as the two alpha just stared at the lacky. Shinso could feel his alpha bristle at this new information. Izuku isn’t a possession, he is a person. The alpha bit off the beginnings of a growl, he hated how demeaning the underground treated omegas. They were treated like they were nothing more than what they could provide. It was sickening.

Hari caught on quickly and shifted to continue. Whether it was nerves or years of experience, this beta was good at reading a room.

“You are allowed in the building, no need for a reason. Be that training or personal, you have right over the omega and we will not impede. Just keep in mind that the omega will need to keep his ability to fight. Any conditions that may inhibit that are required to be dealt with, even pregnancy.”

A small rumble resonated from the blond alpha. Hari looked up from the documents, giving Bakugo a curious look. Despite Shinso feeling the same way, he gave his partner a pointed nudge with his foot. They were so close to having more access and thus more leverage. They couldn’t lose it because of personal feelings. Just because this wasn’t a sex trade, didn’t mean that Izuku was off the table to any high level scumbag.

Shinso nodded, keeping his demeanor cooled. Just like he has done a hundred times before. “Yes, we understand.” Shinso stated, drawing the beta’s attention to him. “Anything else?”

“Let me continue.” Hari said, his attention back onto the papers in front of him. “You will receive 30% of profit earned from each fight. Your payment will be deposited the next day into the account that you already provided.” Hari flipped the paper and started down the next page.

“You two also only have access to the south hall and the fight ring for training. If you are discovered in any other part of the building the contract will be voided on that violation and the penalty will have to be paid the same day.” The beta continued, his tone becoming monotone with clear boredom.

The three sat for far longer than any of them really wanted, but did their due diligence and listened to the stricken contract.

Hari let out a relieved sigh as he looked up and pushed the document toward the two alphas.  “There will be no adjustment to anything I have just stated within the contract. If you agree, please sign here.”

Shinso glared at the beta as he looked at them with an expectant look, almost like he was wanting them to find an issue. Instinct and hero training told Shinso that this was a bad deal. There was very little in it for them and they couldn’t barter.

Unfortunately, despite his gut feeling, they had to go along. They didn’t have any notoriety or reputation in this part of the underground, and ‘the boss’ knew that. That was most likely why the beta was sent instead. The dark haired alpha just hoped that Aizawa and his team knew what they were doing on the back end of all of this.

Shinso sighed as he leaned forward and grabbed the black pen.

Moments later the two were walking down the hall behind the beta. Hari did little to provide conversation or even a welcoming atmosphere despite their contract.

Nothing stood out as they walked behind him. The wood floors were covered in a thick layer of dirt like they had never been cleaned. The stone walls were scared with large chunks and digits. Some portions splattered with a dark substance that Shinso chose to ignore. He could assume what the identification of it was without investigating just fine.

They took a few turns until they arrived at a closed door at the far end of a hallway. The door didn’t stand out from the others, the wood a little splintered but otherwise holding no indication to what was in the room on the other side.

Hari motioned to the door to indicate that this was where they were to stop. The beta said nothing before turning around and walking back the way they came. Shin tracked the beta with his eyes, waiting to see what was supposed to happen next. When Hari disappeared around the corner he looked at Katsuki in confusion. He too was gazing down the hall, both of them not certain what to do next now that they were alone in the villain's ‘lair’.

“Well, might as well knock.” Shin mumbled, turning to the door. He paused for a moment, the smell of peach seeping through the door confirming that they were in the right place. The purple-haired alpha knocked on the door, both alpha’s waiting with baited breath as they strained to hear anything on the other side.

The room was dead silent, no hint of someone rushing around or whispering. Even the pheromones that slipped through the cracks remained constant. It didn’t seem like anyone was inside at all.

Shinso glanced toward Katsuki from the corner of his eye. The other stood firm as he too seemed to be using his senses to try and find the omega behind the door. They stood there a moment longer before Shin sighed, resigning to the decision that they would have to come back tomorrow before the match to talk to the small omega.

As he turned to make their way out of the building, green caught in his peripheral at the end of the hall. He jumped slightly into a straighter position, not realizing that they were being watched by the omega they waited for. Said omega stood cautiously in the middle of the hall, his body tilted away as if he couldn’t decide if he wanted to make a run for it.

Deku looked at them with a weary gaze, one arm strapped to his abdomen with the same shirt that they had worn during their last meeting. His hair was wild as an oversized black shirt draped over him. Even from here, Shin could see the red that hinted around the rims of his eyes. He had been crying, the tip of his nose looking like he had rubbed it continuously.

“Deku?” Katsuki asked, his voice low and hesitant as he turned to see what Shinso was looking at.

The two alpha’s waited for a reaction from the underground fighter. Those green eyes wide with shock before cooling into a blank stare. He pivoted slightly, his good arm moving behind him- to the person behind him.

Shinso blinked, his focus now drawn to the small figure that stood behind the omega. Her form was almost completely concealed behind the baggy shirt that Deku wore. Her red eyes peaked around the male and met purple as she examined the two alphas.

“Go to your room.” Izuku whispered, his gaze never leaving the alpha’s in front of his door.

The pup started at the hard tone, her eyes narrowing and mouth forming into a pout as she looked up at the omega. “But-“

“Now.” Izuku stated, firmer but not harsh or unkind.

Large red eyes turned back, this time sizing up the blond alpha. She sniffed obviously, her nose tilted up into the air. The action was so blatant and practically disrespectful that Shinso had to hold back a laugh. Was she really memorizing their scents?

After another moment, and an obvious squeeze on the shoulder from Izuku; the little girl finally moved. A small growl resonated lightly through the hallway as she looked at Izuku one last time. But the defiance in her eyes vanished quickly at the loud fanged snap that the omega made. His teeth were bared, his small fangs on full display as he looked down at the girl. With one last snap of teeth from the omega, the pup was turning away and rounding the corner that the two had come from.

Hot milk flooded the hall, an evident warning from the pup toward the two strangers. It was sharp and beyond that of a young pup, no doubt this was the scent of a pup about to present. The pheromones burned Shinso’s nose, his instincts desperately wanting to either take a step back from the displeasured pup, or stalk down after the pup and make her submit.

Those thoughts disappeared when Deku’s emerald eyes turned to them, his fangs now concealed under a frown as he analyzed the situation before him. His eyes met both alpha’s for a moment before resting on Katsuki. Those large eyes narrowed slightly with determination.

The omega lifted his chin in a defying manner, squared his body with shoulders rolling back. The large breath he took before walking toward them was the cherry on top. In any other situation Shinso would have found it amusing to watch someone so small act like this infront of the behemoth that was Bakugo Katsuki.

“Why are you here?” Izuku demanded once he was a few steps away. His eyes not once leaving the blond alpha.

“We are officially your sponsors.” Shin explained, quick to try and break the tension that was growing at an ungodly rate. He tilted his head forward slightly, a welcoming smile growing on his face as he stared at Izuku.  “We came to visit you, get to know you and your needs so we can make your life better.”

The omega finally looked toward him, an intense gaze examining Shinso’s face as if waiting for a joke or a nasty statement to follow. The alpha knew already that he was growing fawned of Izuku, but now it seemed that everything he did was worthy of his adoration.

In most cases an omega wasn’t in a position to show their true demeanor- especially in the underground- but Izuku seemed to not have that problem. That was going to make this easier in the sense that they would be able to get a read on the fighter, but also incredibly harder since Izuku seemed to be just as bull headed as Bakugo. Though, it didn’t rub the purple haired alpha the wrong way that this omega wasn’t going to roll over for them. Rather Shin found this fascinating. Most omegas would immediately submit to any alpha- friend or foe- no questions asked. Yet, here was Izuku, doing everything but what most omegas would do.

“Fine.” Deku’s tone was short, but the irritation was more than obvious as he pushed past them and opened the door to his room.

Katsuki glanced at his partner, his eyebrows pulled together with a confused look on his face. Shin had no idea if they were supposed to follow either. So he just shrugged before moving to the doorway. Yet, he stopped with a sudden- startling- thought. This was an omegan den, only a potential mate or people extremely close to the omega were allowed to enter. Doing so without that trust was basically a death sentence.

His instincts were telling him that this wasn’t okay. He couldn’t enter the omega’s den, that was inappropriate.

“Oh my god! Just get in here and close the door!” Izuku snapped. His arms were kinda folded over his chest, but more so his stomach with the way the sling was strapped to him. Angry peaches began to spread and Shin had no intention of irritating the small man further. He stepped through the doorway, staying close to the wall as Katsuki followed behind him.

Izuku slammed the door closed with his foot, his eyes not leaving them as he huffed a breath. “What do you want?”

The two alpha’s looked at each other, neither knowing what to say as anxiety filled the air around them. They hadn’t really expected this, even with their training they never encountered a mission that involved an omegan den. Theoretically this wasn’t supposed to be so hard, but that didn’t stop their inner alphas’ from clawing in panic. They were on the brink of death because they weren’t exactly invited in.

Izuku seemed to catch on. A heavy groan left him and he looked up to the ceiling with an irritated expression. “This isn’t a den! Enslaved omegas don’t get one, so stop with this weird shit. God, you're the dumbest alphas I have ever met, how have you made it this far up the ranks with only one brain cell?”

Izuku’s frown only grew as he turned away, stomping toward a small mattress on the ground. “Shouldn’t you know this shit? You work in the underground, this is how it works.”

Izuku kept his back toward them, his head tilted as he stared down at the mattress in front of him. Shinso noticed the slight hint of sadness in the way Izuku talked, almost like he didn’t want to address the matter.

“I-I,” Katsuki looked at Shinso, a pleading look in his eye. The tired alpha could only nod, they had to start somewhere, so it might as well be now.

“We don’t work for any organization in the underground.” Katsuki said, taking tentative footsteps to a chair that sat by a small desk.

Izuku turned, his eyes wide and his mouth slightly open as he watched the blond. The gears in his head worked as he tried to dissect what the meaning behind those words meant.

“What?” He looked toward Shinso, the alpha only nodding to confirm what his partner had said. “You two are what then?”

Shinso sighed, walking further into the room with hands shoved in his fitted pants. “We are undercover, trying to bring down this fight ring.” He said in a soft voice. He didn’t want anyone on the other side of the door to hear what they were talking about.

Izuku's eyes seemed to only widen more before a pained expression fell over him. Tears flooded his eyes as he looked between them, his mouth opening and closing over and over. After a moment he hung his head, hand wiping at his eyes as his shoulders shook.

“Izu-“

“P-please.” Izuku sobbed out. “Let me ask a favor, I will do anything you want in exchange.”

“What is it?” Bakugo asked, not bothered by the interruption. His eyelashes glistened with un shed tears as he watched the omega.

“That p-pup, I need to get her o-out.” Izuku stuttered out. His breathing was labored as he seemed to be trying to hold back most of his emotions. “My master is hurting her and I cannot protect her anymore. Please!” He rushed out between gasps of air. His arm dropped to his side, fisted so tight that his knuckles turned white. “Rescue her, get her somewhere safe, so she doesn’t have to use her quirk for these monsters anymore.”

Something deep inside Hitoshi cracked. The desperation that Izuku had resonated deep within him.

Shinso walked closer to the omega, his full attention now dedicated to Izuku. The fear that the omega was about to go into a drop was overwhelming as Izuku’s body shook with each sob. Distressed pheromones rushed off of him in waves, the underlying notes of rot under the already soured peach became heavier with each breath Izuku sobbed out. Labored gasps were now more hysteric with a scarred hand flying up to grasp the neck of his shirt to pull it down.

Before Shin could process the want to hold the omega- before he could even reach out and try to help- Katsuki was already there. He knelt down in front of Izuku, warm ginger filled the room as he pulled the shorter gently into a hug. The omega stiffed in the embrace, pulling back for a moment before falling onto the alpha, nose barrier into the blond’s shoulder as he cried.

“Izuku…” Katsuki whispered, “I will get you and your pup out of here. I promise.”
